Stars Shine Over Surrey

Brooklands Radio played host to the young stars for Junior Star Singer on Saturday 1st July.  Contestants got together to sing their tracks and to be interviewed by hosts Amanda Neale and co-presenter Rachael Summers for their slot on Junior Star Singer.

There was definitely tension in the waiting area at Brooklands Radio, as contestants Caitlin Clarke and Asia Eyubova waited patiently to go onto the show.  Caitlin sang her version of 'We don't have to take Our Clothes off' by Ella Eyres and Asia sang 'Million Reasons' by Lady Gaga - see her performance below:

Both contestants were there for moral support for each other as they also sat in on each other's sessions on the station.  They did extremely well and showed their ability to sing tracks in their own unique style.  Well done!

Before the contestants kicked off there were special guests on the tour Teide Bryce, Georgia Lois and Luke Richards performing as well and doing interviews.

Luke Richards was an original contestant of Brooklands Future Starz which was the pilot for Junior Star Singer formed in a series of 6 episodes.   A young ambitious songwriter, churning out sometimes more than 3 tracks in a day, Luke has been developed on the Junior Star Singer Artist development program since the show in 2015 and has really done well producing his first demo.  Luke finds it very easy to write a love ballad and after developing his songwriting technique, he now wants to branch out and learn to produce his own music as well as for other artists.  He is now going on to study music tech at ACM in Guildford.  Check out more info on Luke on the Junior Star Singer website.  Luke will also be performing in shows for Junior Star Singer later in the year.

Junior Star Singer guest stars Teide Bryce, Georgia Lois and Rachael Summers will be performing at the Famous Cavern Club on Friday 11th August for a Junior Star Singer slot.  The Cavern Club is the cradle of British pop music.  Over the decades since the Beatles have performed there, acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, The Hollies, The Kinks, Elton John, Black Sabbath, Queen, The Who, Adele, Jessie J and many more have also followed.  It will be a fun packed weekend for the Junior Star Singer artists as in August they will be doing Junior Star Singer Halifax and Bradford too!  So look out for their clips on Junior Star Singer news and on the blogs as well!
